Marybeth Mitcham, Adjunct Professor of Science at SUNY Adirondack and Cornell Cooperative Extension Resource Educator, will present a talk titled “Combatting Loneliness: Intergenerational Experiential Education as an Effective Means of Fostering Connectivity” on Wednesday, February 24, 2021. The presentation will begin at 12:40 p.m. via Zoom.
The presentation is part of SUNY Adirondack’s College Lecture Series and is sponsored by the College’s Professional Development Committee. The public is invited and admission is free. The talk will last about an hour with time for questions.
Social isolation and loneliness are quickly becoming factors of concern in an increasingly fast-paced world. Despite ever-evolving technology that has facilitated instantaneous communication, people increasingly report that they feel socially and emotionally disconnected from others.
