[ARCHIVED] Road Closure this Thursday

TEMPORARY CLOSURE ~ PRUYNS ISLAND DRIVE

WHAT: Work being performed on the Glens Falls Connector Project will necessitate another road closure this week in the City of Glens Falls.

WHEN: Thursday, June 8, from 3pm to 8pm.

WHERE: Murray Street – between Henry Street and Pruyn’s Island Drive.

DETAILS: The Glens Falls Connector Project is an ongoing construction project in the city’s 5th Ward.  The project entails the installation of sidewalks and curb ramps along Murray Street that are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), drainage structures, signing and striping, as well as new pedestrian signals at the intersection of Murray Street and South Street.  The project also includes the installation of two new pedestrian bridges which will cross the Glens Falls Feeder Canal – one of which will be installed this Thursday.

Because of the bridge installation,   Murray Street will be temporarily closed from 3pm to 8pm between Henry Street and Pruyn’s Island Drive.  There will be no traffic allowed on or off Pruyn Island except in the event of a Police or Fire Emergency.

This road closure is in addition to other road closures taking place on Wednesday, June 7, pertaining to another city project  around Webster Avenue and Bay Street in the city’s 2nd Ward.
