Glens Falls Buildings and Codes Department Operational Changes
GLENS FALLS – Mayor Bill Collins announced today some changes to the Building and Codes Department starting Monday, June 6.
Following a completion of a study by LaBella Associates, the City will be making structural improvements, updating internal processes, and installing new software to provide for a more seamless internal workflow.
The new software package will:
- Create a more seamless internal workflow,
- Make reporting code concerns easier for citizens,
- Quicken response for potential violations, and
- Ease the issuance of building permits and inspections.
During the transition period, the hours of operation for the Building and Codes Department will be changing. The office will be closed Monday, June 6, and will reopen Tuesday, June 7, with public operating hours of 8:00 AM to Noon weekdays (Monday through Friday) while the changes are in the process of being completed.
Until further notice, appointments will be required when it is necessary to meet with a building and codes official or when technical assistance is required. Appointments will be available during the temporary office hours. To schedule an appointment, contact the Building and Codes office at buildingcodes@cityofglensfalls.com
The Mayor’s office thanks city residents for their patience during these changes.
