Glens Falls Mayor S. William Collins today welcomed the New York State Public High School Basketball Tournament back to Glens Falls.
“Everyone in the Greater Glens Falls/Capitol District Area is looking forward to this exciting tournament. I want thank New York State Public High School Athletic Association for again committing to a three year stay at the Cool Insuring Arena. I also want to thank all the officials, the Greater Glens Falls Amateur Athletic Championship Association and the many volunteers who work hard to make the tournament happen. Without them the tournament would be impossible.”
The tournament was not held in 2020-21 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We had a great thirty-six year run hosting the tournament and it became a major feature of life here in Hometown USA in late winter. We hope the present three year commitment is the beginning of another long run here in Glens Falls at the Cool Insuring Arena. I would also like to thank the Warren County Board of Supervisors for helping finance the tournament with an Occupancy Tax grant.”
The tournament will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 18, 19 and 20. Times vary, for a schedule of games visit the Cool Insuring Arena at https://www.coolinsuringarena.com/events-tickets/
All tickets are $10 for those over five and can be purchased at the box office window or online.
