**Crandall Pond Ice Lantern Contest**

 

Friday February 5th to Sunday February 19th.

 

How to enter: Drop off your ice lantern and take a photo of it. Send the photo with your contact name and contact information to webmaster@cityofglensfalls.com

 

If you have an Instagram account, share your photo and tag @cityofglensfalls . After the contest period closes, we will announce the winner and you will get a hot cocoa kit complete with City of Glens Falls mugs and a reusable bag, plus bragging rights! 😊

 

When: 2/5 to 2/19. Make your lantern and drop it off anytime during this period. 

 

Where: Lanterns can be placed on the islands and on the north side perimeter of the pond (opposite the parking area) 

 

Size: Lanterns may be made with any form, shape or color. We recommend at least a two-gallon container be used so that they are visible from the street. 

 

Construction: Any additional decorative items added to the lantern must be natural and biodegradable. No artificial decorating materials such as glitter, ribbon or artificial flowers are permitted. 

 

Candles: Lanterns must be illuminated by at least one battery operated (non-burning) candle that can be set to turn on and off with a timer.

 

Clean-up: After the event, participants are responsible to remove the lanterns when they are no longer usable.
