Starting Sunday, November 1st a new expansion to the current New York State seat belt law will require anyone, anywhere in the car to wear a seat belt. Currently the law requires persons over the age of 16 to wear a seat belt only in the front seat. Anyone under 16 must legally wear a seat belt in the front & rear of the vehicle. On November 1st, anyone over 16 must wear their seat belt in the back seat as well.
