FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Wednesday, March 18, 2020
After carefully monitoring the ongoing COVID-19 emergency in the area, Greater Glens Falls Transit will suspend all transit services effective Monday, March 23, 2020 at 6:00am and until further notice. GGFT deeply regrets any inconvenience or hardship that this may cause its many riders. However, going forward during this public health emergency GGFT cannot satisfactorily guarantee or maintain the CDC recommended precautions of minimum social distancing or maximum group gathering size limits aboard its buses during this emergency.
This decision has been made in the best interest of public health and in support of efforts locally and across the nation to contain the spread of COVID-19 as much as possible.
GGFT joins other public transit systems across the North Country in this decision.
GGFT will continue to monitor the situation and will restore full service operationas soon as conditions warrant. There is no date known at the present time when
that will occur. Future announcements about changes to this suspension will beposted on GGFT’s website https://gftransit.org/ .
