The City of Glens Falls has limited grant funding to address sudden housing problems for lower income elderly (over age 60) home owners by eliminating emergency repair issues within 60 days or less of the City receiving an acceptable application from a home owner in need of repair help. Typical emergency repairs for single-family homes within the City of Glens Falls include:
►Failed heating systems and leaking hot water heaters:
►Leaking or structurally compromised roofing components:
►Mobility hazards including broken steps, stairwells, landings, and hand railings: and
►Plumbing problems including broken water and sewer lines and related issues that threaten the delivery of clean water or prevent the removal of wastewater.
Applicants must be 60 years or older, own their own home, and have income below the limits shown below, adjusted for household size and documented by each owner:

3 Persons: $62,750
4 Persons: $69,700
5 Persons: $75,300
6 Persons: $80,850
7 Persons: $80,850
8 Persons: $92,000
All emergency repair work will be bid by local Contractors, including Minority and WomenOwned Firms. The lowest qualified bid must be approved by the City of Glens Falls, and all work must be completed within 60 days of the home owner signing the Construction Contract.
