Responsibilities
The Building and Codes Department is responsible for issuing various types of building permits as well as coordinating meetings of the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals.
The Building and Codes Department conducts inspections on commercial and residential construction projects and manages the city's code enforcement efforts, such as property maintenance and cleanliness of premises.
We serve as a resource to contractors, developers and citizens and provide assistance when needed in the areas of construction and code enforcement.
Zoning & Planning Boards
Planning Board meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month. The Zoning Board of Appeals meets on the third Monday of every month. For information regarding making application to the Planning Board or Zoning Board of Appeals, please call 518-761-3810.
