Responsibilities

The Director of Tourism & Events has the overall responsibility to market and effectively promote the City of Glens Falls for general consumer tourism, conventions/meetings and group tours, etc.,to increase awareness of Glens Falls as a destination and is responsible for working with and assisting downtown businesses in marketing, advertising , special events, communications and public relations. Maintains a working relationship with Warren County and New York State tourism agencies and their affiliates including Warren County Tourism, Lake George Chamber of Commerce and the Glens Falls Business Improvement District. The Director of Tourism is also responsible for maintaining working relationships with regional hotels, resorts, museums, accommodations and tourism attractions. The Director works with the Mayor, the downtown events committee, the Business Improvement District and downtown businesses on projects, goals, events, marketing, advertising, communication and publications.
